(MDPL) is a wholly We are a fully owned subsidiary of the Pakistan Microfinance Network that aims to digitize the microfinance industry by digitally enabling loan disbursements and loan repayments and introducing efficiencies that extend the footprint of the microfinance providers, in support of the financial inclusion agenda in Pakistan.

Faisal Ejaz Khan

Faisal Ejaz Khan is a well-known personality in the banking, payments and information technology arena in Pakistan. Faisal brings with him rich experience of the Financial Services Industry. He has held responsibilities in Private Banking, Corporate Banking and Banking Operations during his past roles in Emirates Bank International PJSC, MCB Bank Limited, SME Bank Limited in various capacities.  Some highlights of his career include his role as CEO at 1 Link (Guarantee) Limited, Pakistan where he played a leading role in the launch of PayPak, the first Domestic Payment Scheme in Pakistan duly approved and supported by the State Bank of Pakistan.   As CIO of MCB Bank Limited, Faisal played a leadership role in Mnet Private Limited, a Payment Services Provider as CEO.   He is a highly seasoned business leader with a strong track record of strategic thinking, hands-on execution and building strong teams who collaborate to improve the customer experience.

Roshaneh Zafar

Managing Director, Kashf Foundation

Ms. Roshaneh Zafar is a pioneer in the development sector with an experience of over thirty years. She is the only Pakistani woman to have established the country’s first specialized microfinance institution, Kashf Foundation, that works towards empowering women micro entrepreneurs. Ms.Zafar also serves on the board of several prestigious institutions including Pakistan Medical Commission, Kinnaird College, Finca MicroFinance Bank, the Micro Insurance Network, the Pakistan Microfinance Network and Kaarvan Crafts. Her contribution to the development field has been recognized internationally and nationally. In 2010, she won Vital Voices award for economic empowerment and in 2007 the Skoll Award for Social Entrepreneurship. In 2005, Ms. Zafar was awarded the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, one of Pakistan s highest civilian awards, by the President of Pakistan for her work to empower women from low-income households. In addition, she was selected as a social entrepreneur in 2004 by the Schwab Foundation, a sister entity to the World Economic Forum. Ms. Zafar has also previously worked with the World Bank and has served as a member of the Prime Minister’s Taskforce on Austerity and Federal Government restructuring. She is a graduate of the Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania, USA and also holds a Master’s degree in Development Economics from Yale University, USA.

Kabeer Naqvi

President & CEO

Mr. Naqvi has been with U Microfinance Bank since Sep 2015 and has been instrumental in the turnaround of the bank. He has more than 21 years of work experience to his name and continues to lead U Bank with his vigor, drive and vision. His experience entails building teams and structures from ground up, setting up new businesses with keen focus on bottom line, establishing partnerships to take the mission forward. Mr. Naqvi represents a new breed of bankers who have managed to push the evolution in banking while staying true to the spirit of serving the underserved and excluded population of the country. 

Previously he has served as the Chief of Staff & Chief Financial Officer at Tameer Microfinance Bank (Currently Telenor Microfinance Bank) where his career spanned over 9 years. He has had extensive work experience in External & Internal Audit, Corporate Finance and Taxation and has served at Ernst & Young Saudi Arabia, TPL Pakistan and House of Habib. 

Mr. Naqvi is a trained accountant and a distinguished fellow member of ACCA – the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. He is a part of the board of directors at Pakistan Microfinance Network and also chairs its Audit Committee.
